ACH Support in Recurring Payments

This update introduces ACH as a payment option for recurring payments. Previously, only card details could be used to set up recurring payments. Now, after securely tokenizing a customer’s bank account, merchants can set up recurring payments using the bank account number through the My Customers module.

How to Tokenize ACH:

The customer’s account details will be tokenized after completing an ACH payment, as there is no option to add the account details manually from the My Customers module. This will also save the card under the customer’s profile.

How to Use:

  • Log in to the iPOSpays portal using a merchant account.
  • From the dashboard, go to “My Customers.”
  • Search for the customer’s name, phone number or email address from the search box at the top.
  • On the right side of the screen, click on “More” and select “Add Recurring Payment.”

Set Up Recurring Payment Using ACH:

  • Enter the payment amount
  • Select the Terminal Profile Number (TPN).
  • Select “Bank Accounts” from the Card Type drop-down menu
  • Select the desired bank account number from the drop-down menu. Optionally, enter an external reference ID.
  • Select the preferred option from the “Frequency” drop-down menu. A message will display when the next payment cycle will start.
  • Choose “Terminal Type,” which will be automatically set based on the previous transaction that was processed for this bank account. It is important to note that the terminal type can only be changed if previous transactions were made using different terminal types.

For example, if the last transaction was an ACH transaction with a TEL ID, the terminal type will default to TEL. The terminal type can only be changed if previous transactions were made using different terminal types.

  • After setting the start and end dates, click “Setup Recurring Payment” to complete the process.

If you wish you can edit/cancel the recurring payment as well:

  • Go to CloudPOS -> Recurring Payments.
  • Search for the customer’s phone number or email address from the search box at the top.
  • Click “Edit Recurring Payment.”
  • You can change the frequency or delete the Recurring Payment.
